I purchased a Swiffer® dry mop shortly after they first appeared on store shelves. I liked it because I could easily get it into corners and underneath some furniture that sat low to the floor. However, I did not like purchasing the disposable cloths. So for quite some time, I did not use the mop.

Just recently I thought of a a frugal alternative to disposable cloths, and I thought I'd share it with you. I went to the dollar store and purchased some microfiber cloths. I attach them to the Swiffer® and mop away. They work very well and can be washed and reused.

Happy mopping!

Well, now that is a right dandy idea! Now I should think about getting one of them. People make fun of me because I still use the old fashioned broom but I have only a tiny kitchen to sweep so I didn't think it worth my while to get a swiffer. I would think that if you have wooden floors throughout, it would be a great thing to have.

Great Idea Wanita :)
I'm always glad to read frugal tips these days!

What a great idea, Wanita. I love my Swiffer dry mop AND wet mop, but constantly buying the pads gets expensive. Great idea!
Awesome. I will have to look for these. I have a cat and dog and it picks up hair pretty well off the floors. I hate throwing them away too.
Love that idea. Another way to help our Earth. I love to recycle. Good for now and the future. I am a new blogger as of yesterdy. Thanks. Dogwood
