Parada del Sol

The Parada del Sol, known as the "world's largest horse-drawn parade," has been an annual event in Scottsdale, Arizona, since 1953. This year it was held on February 21, and our hotel was just a block from the parade route.

We had so much fun watching this wonderful parade, and I thought you'd enjoy some photos.

Lots of cowboys

Sheriff's deputies on horseback

Cowgirls dressed in their finest...

...in Roy Rogers and Dale Evans' style

Buffalo soldiers

The dogs had their day ~ K-9 Drill Team

Dancers in beautiful costumes

This cowboy....

...did the limbo under street signs!

Cute pompom girls

The Wells Fargo Stage

The American flag balloon

The Jazzy Poms range in age from 60~83. They've danced at Disney World!

Don't they look great!
I want to be a jazzy pom when I grow up!

Blessings,
Wanita

The limbo under the street sign just cracked me up. I'm going to have to ask my hubby about this - he grew up in Scottsdale and he's never once mentioned this parade to me.
